Job Overview
Reporting to senior leadership, the Finance Director will lead financial strategy, planning, and reporting across Residential, Mixed-Use, Retail, Industrial, and Logistics projects. The role combines financial stewardship, commercial insight, and operational leadership to support investment, development, and asset management decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement the company’s financial strategy, policies, and controls to support growth and ensure long‑term financial sustainability.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term financial planning processes, aligning financial plans with project pipelines and corporate objectives.
Prepare timely and accurate management accounts, financial statements, and board‑level reports; present financial performance, risks, and opportunities to senior management and investors.
Oversee cash flow management, treasury operations, banking relationships, and working capital optimisation across the group.
Drive commercial and feasibility assessments for new investments and developments; provide scenario modelling, sensitivity analysis, and recommendations to support decision making.
Partner with Development, Sales, Asset Management, and Operations teams to ensure financial inputs and controls are embedded throughout project life cycles.
Support fundraising, joint ventures, and investor relations activities by preparing financial due diligence, models, and investor materials; manage relationships with lenders and external advisers.
Implement and maintain robust internal controls, risk management frameworks, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Lead and develop the finance team by providing coaching, performance management, and professional development to build capability and succession planning.
Identify process improvements and system enhancements (including ERP and reporting tools) to improve efficiency, data integrity, and decision support.
Skills & Experience
Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent) with substantial post‑qualification experience, ideally within real estate, development, or related sectors.
Proven experience in a senior finance role, including financial planning & analysis, treasury, reporting, and investor engagement.
Strong commercial acumen with experience in financial modelling, project feasibility, and investment appraisal.
Demonstrable track record of partnering with cross‑functional teams to influence strategy and deliver commercial outcomes.
Experience managing banking relationships, debt facilities, and capital raising transactions is highly desirable.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to develop teams, drive change, and operate effectively at board level.
Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERPs and financial reporting systems; experience implementing system improvements an advantage.
Strong communication and presentation skills; able to convey complex financial information clearly to non‑financial stakeholders.
