Job Overview
The Information Security Engineer is a critical defender of the organization’s digital perimeter and a guardian of regulatory integrity. This role combines technical engineering, proactive threat management, and compliance oversight. You will be responsible for the technical health of the security environment—from firewall architecture and SIEM management to ensuring total alignment with the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Security Engineering & Operations
Infrastructure Management: Lead the configuration, deployment, and optimization of Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls to ensure maximum network protection.
Network Defense: Operate and troubleshoot Fortinet solutions and other specialized perimeter security hardware.
Threat Monitoring: Manage and refine SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems to detect, analyze, and respond to security incidents in real-time.
Endpoint Protection: Oversee the enterprise antivirus strategy, utilizing deep experience with platforms such as Trend Micro, McAfee, or Symantec.
2. Compliance & Governance
National Standards: Lead the application and continuous monitoring of Compliance & Standards of the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA).
Security Audits: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and internal reviews to ensure security protocols align with both national mandates and international best practices.
3. Incident Response & Risk Mitigation
Threat Analysis: Proactively identify vulnerabilities within the network and implement robust remediation strategies.
Emergency Response: Act as a primary technical responder to security breaches, ensuring rapid containment and recovery.
Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate records of security configurations, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
4. Strategic Collaboration
Cross-Functional Support: Partner with IT and Operations teams to ensure security controls are embedded throughout the project lifecycles and network architecture.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement system enhancements and new security tools to improve data integrity and defense-in-depth strategies.
Skills & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations and engineering.
Technical "Must-Have": Advanced, demonstrable experience with Palo Alto networks is mandatory for this role.
Tool Proficiency: Proven track record managing Cisco Firewalls, SIEM platforms, Fortinet, and enterprise-grade endpoint protection (Trend Micro/McAfee/Symantec).
Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with the NCA framework and Saudi Arabian cybersecurity regulations.
Professional Qualifications
Candidates must hold at least one of the following (or an equivalent) certification:
CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)
