They are currently building one of the region’s most advanced credit platforms, combining data-driven technology with sound financial principles to redefine risk management and SME accessibility.
Job Overview
As a Credit Analyst, you will be a cornerstone of the risk management function, directly influencing the company’s sustainable growth. This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you will evaluate the creditworthiness of SME applicants, manage detailed credit files, and refine the frameworks that power our lending engine. You will work at the intersection of finance and technology, collaborating across departments to ensure fast, accurate, and responsible credit decisions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Credit Assessment & Decisioning
In-depth Analysis: Conduct rigorous credit evaluations for SME customers by synthesizing financial statements, internal platform data, and external credit sources.
File Management: Prepare, review, and maintain comprehensive credit files, ensuring 100% accuracy and compliance with internal standards.
Efficiency & Velocity: Meet key performance indicators, including a target of 15+ credit files per month and an average offer generation time of 9 days.
Quality Excellence: Maintain a success rate of 80% or higher in quality assurance (QA) checks, ensuring every decision is backed by sound logic.
2. Portfolio Monitoring & Risk Mitigation
Early Warning Systems: Monitor assigned accounts for early credit signals, behavioral shifts, and emerging risk indicators.
Risk Escalation: Identify potential defaults or high-risk cases and escalate them to senior analysts promptly to protect the portfolio’s health.
3. Framework & Policy Evolution
Continuous Improvement: Contribute proactive ideas to enhance credit assessment frameworks, underwriting tools, and automated workflows.
Documentation: Assist in the ongoing update and maintenance of credit policy documentation to reflect evolving market conditions.
Tech Collaboration: Work with Product and Tech teams to support underwriting automation and internal system enhancements.
4. Stakeholder Partnership
Sales Alignment: Act as a strategic partner to the Sales and Business Development teams, providing timely, clear, and constructive feedback on credit applications.
Clear Communication: Convey complex credit decisions and risk rationales to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Skills & Experience
Professional Experience: 2 to 4 years of experience in Credit Underwriting, Credit Risk Analysis, or Financial Analysis.
Sector Knowledge: Prior experience in SME Lending, Fintech, or Banking is highly preferred.
Financial Mastery: Strong financial modeling skills and a deep understanding of P&L, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow analysis.
Data Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills are essential; familiarity with SQL or BI tools (Tableau/Power BI) is a significant advantage.
Risk Principles: Solid grasp of credit risk principles and best practices in the MENA lending landscape.
